Holiday on the Farm

{Thursday December 23, 2010}

Had to work today, long day dragged on.
After work straight to family's house for dinner and a game of dominoes. Tapped out early and went home. Many people my age would be out drinking and partying, but not me. I went home and decided a hot bath would be more relaxing. I have a HUGE garden tub in my home and I use it mostly in the winter months. There is nothing more relaxing and soothing to the soul. Grab a book add some bubbles and it can be a revitalizing escape if you let it be.

{Friday December 24, 2010}

Rise and shine well rested. Off to families house again. Start with the best biscuits and gravy EVAR! Visited for a while, then off to a movie
(Little Fockers ~ Not as Good as the Other two)

Then back to families home for gift exchanges, two back to back. Oh and guess what, I got a new pair of scissors! No more Trauma Shears in my videos.

End that night with More Tamales & a White Russian my drink of choice during the holidays... .. .

{Friday December 25, 2010}

Meet with family at my favorite place, The Farm.
More food and catching up.

Then just spending time taking in the sights.

You can see why its my favorite place right? It is so peaceful out there.

Lots of birds, too.

and the sunset, Amazing ... .. .
Sticking around longer means you get to see the deer that come out in droves!

So my friends I will leave you with that.
No new video up this weekend, I am taking time off.

Hope you and your family have a Wonderful Holiday Season.

Tamales & Fury Vests

tamles

{Tamale Festival}

This weekend there was a tamale cook off near our town. Dragged lots of family out to sample the different offerings...it was super crowded BUT the food made up for it. It was a nice adventure for the weekend...

And Yes I have made tamales before, in fact every year I help spread or mix the masa for them. Family gets together and makes a HUGE batch for Christmas. This year I think we made 30 dozen. We are not talking about the folded variety here either, we are talking about the ones that are tied off on the ends and resemble small torpedoes.

{Fury Vest}

Finally found a Fury Vest which is labeled a fashion trend this winter 2010. Have to admit I have no fur in my wardrobe and I do LOVE it. Just harder to pull off where I live when its usually in the triple digits.

I looked at F21 when I made my recent trip and had no luck. The only one they had was white and I thought I would look like The Abominable Snowman !?

Uploaded a new video to show an outfit idea. Trying to take something from the runway and wear it real-way without getting funny looks...

Hair, Run Ins and Zippers

Well this weekend flew by way too fast.

Work has been hectic for me def looking toward some time off even if its just an extra day or two...

Made a trip to my hairstylist last night. My roots where looking a little BAD...Decided to ask for a lighter blond. Which I got BUT the stylist weaved in Grey/Violet highlights here and there and well, it really looked Grey to me - others confirmed it was noticeable. Washed it when I got home, the Grey came out a bit, washed again this morning, seems to be fading out. I was to the point where I would go to Sally's buy the big tub of bleach and just go totally blond to get rid of it. There is nothing worse then your hair not coming out the way you want / like....I swear it is the worst feeling.......

On top of THAT.....

Today I ran into the local grocery store. It was one of those Sundays where I was up at six with an errands to run. Needless to say I left the house with no makeup and an outfit that was non inspirational. And IT happened

the dreaded "Run Into Someone You Know"

I was like is that who I think it is??? Nah, and of course they come walking around the corner....I felt like a dear caught in the headlights, promptly turned around and left the store as fast as I could. Did not mean to be rude to this person but my embarrassment affected my better judgment =[

{Changing Subjects}

Time to post an new vid.

This is a project I recorded for the second time. First time around the footage was corrupted somehow and refused to convert...

Inspired by a trip to Target where I found the Embellishment of something Inspiring

and....

Another project another day watch below.....

Hope to inspire others to be resourceful and creative.

Forever 21 Haul & More

Well my Christmas shopping came early this year.

Check my find's here:

Started at one of my fav store where they where having some serious Starbucks cutbacks?!

{Mini Toffee Frap}

The Starbucks was handy out free samples in the morning was rather nice, needed the little sugar rush before starting a long day of shopping. I do like Christmas shopping but only early, cannot stand the crowds and traffic that gets worse as Christmas gets closer...

I have noticed that the drivers in my town have gotten progressively insane, pulling out too soon when they should have just waited, or passing a car and speeding past only to stop at the same light everyone else did....lets face it no one needs a wreck and especially Not this time of year.

Here's hoping that We all have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!

What to Wear when the Invite Says ...?

Ever wonder what to wear for that special event coming up?
I did not I thought I had it all under control ... .. .
My epic fail lead to another video project.
I am hoping that this will help others not make the mistake I did.

Remains of The Day

{ Leftovers }
I ate myself into a food coma yesterday. Was nice to catch up with family and relax.
This morning I was faced with the perplexing decision of which pie was for breakfast?
I choose a small slice of both to go with my my morning coffee, spiked with Vanilla and Cinnamon creamer.
Tell me dear friends which pie is your choice?

Sushi Anyone?

{Weekend Snack Attack}
So recently I have been spending way too much time in the local restaurants that serve sushi, sashimi and delicious rolls.
This is totally new to me having never really tried it out before. Which is odd because I have an obsession with anything Japanese or oriental.
I have finally completed a meal using only chop sticks. I am surprised at how it makes you slow down and really savor what you are eating.
If you have any suggestions as to what I should check out comment below.

A Week Worth of Outifts

So I had been thinking of an idea.

I had seen millions of people on You Tube doing "Outfits of The Day Videos" or "OOTD's" I was thinking about making a couple. But I thought that they would be super short and more trouble then anything.

I thought Why not "Outfits of the Week!?"

So I set up my camera last Saturday and recorded what I wore that weekend. During the week I continued this process. I found myself digging though my closet to find those stylish outfits that would inspire. That kept me going, because I am Not a morning person and would rather sleep that extra 30 mins...

Made a trip to Wal-Mart this week. Found this skirt for $5 on clearance, I am all about a deal when I see one. This originally had a tank top attached but I just tucked it down, will probably cut it off in the future to free up outfit opportunity's ...

Thank goodness Target has really come along way with the clothing they carry. I can walk in there and always find something great. This dress is actually a backless summer dress that ties up in the back {sexy} However I had to make it office appropriate before heading into work.

Last weekend me and the hubby headed to see a movie. I really wanted to see Easy A it looked funny, and IT was. Almost wore the Hat but thought that would look like I am trying too hard. the Steve Madden Shoes attract enough looks
and compliments from perfect strangers.

Watch the video for more.
All items are listed in the info bar for locations and prices.

Lazy Sunday Morning Breakfest

Sunday is usual my chore day.
Spent cleaning up things around the house, etc.
But in no hurry of course.
We started out the morning with an omelet that cheered us on.

5 ingredients Mushroom & Spinach Omelet

6 Eggs
Dash of Milk (Add to eggs until you get that lemony yellow color)
Frozen Spinach (was a little over a hand full after draining)
Cream Cheese (about four good sized spoon fulls)
Mushrooms (a good hand full - we over did it)
Start with cutting the mushrooms into small bite sized pieces. Warm them up in a small skillet.
Take frozen spinach out of bag and place in colander, rinse with tap water to defrost then squeeze excess water from it.
Combine Spinach and cream cheese in a bowl.
Beat eggs, add dash of milk.
Combine eggs and mushrooms in a larger skillet, cook through, then add the spinach and cream cheese, fold over. Cook long enough to make sure eggs are done.
Feel free to mix it up, add whatever produce is in season, or last nights leftovers :)
Enjoy

Saturday Starbucks & Shopping

{Green Iced Tea, sweetened & White Chocolate Mocha Frap are fav's}

This weekend was filled with relaxation, which was most welcomed after the weeks hectic feeling. Filled with a shopping trip to local stores, and Starbucks.

Blond long vest found at a local boutique, Faci. I also grabbed the earrings because of the fabulous color and detail.

I hopped into Anchor Blue to find two black belts on clearance. Sequins can dress up a plain tee shirt, or add flash to a dress.

Expect to see these pieces in future videos...

Blond Vest $10
Black Sequin Belt $5
Black Belt with Buckle $3
Earrings $2

Purple Rain

Another outfit of the week.

We haven't had much rain at all this year in my part of the
world.

When it does rain we all act like kids and get excited , and giddy to puddle jump - or go mud bogging in a Hummer H3 {did That}

Here's hoping for some rain soon....otherwise my hibiscus flowers are going to die.

Purple Dress Pac Sun $20
Grey Vest Target $10
Black Belt Anchor Blue $5
Blacks Zipper Shoes PayLess $25

Labor Day Faux Pas ?

So I know we just had labor day and your Not supposed to wear white anymore, well definitely
No white shoes...

My reasoning for busting this outfit out this week IS, we are still in the triple digits.

Old Navy Shirt $5
Red Belt Wet Seal $5
Blue Skirt JCPennys -I think $20
Dillard's White Platforms Jessica Simpson $50

I figure I can still pull it off. When i wore this I actually got a lot of compliments from people. I guess its just the simplicity of it and the colors. The red belt really catches your eye.
